While a student at Temple, Monique was a double major in advertisting (art direction track) and film & media arts (BFA media arts track). The summer after her freshman year, she traveled to her dream location, Tokyo, and studied abroad at TUJ. In addition to photoblogging for the Study Abroad Office, Monique worked part-time as a writing tutor at TUJ and produced content for a tourist website at an internship. By far the most incredible part of her experience was staying with her host family, eating authentic, homemade Japanese food everyday, and delving into the culture first hand. After this amazing opportunity, she was able to go abroad again to Seoul, South Korea during the spring semester of her junior year and studied at Yonsei University. She was able to stay with another great host family while doing volunteer work and participating in club activities.
"Make studying abroad something to consider - there is a location for all majors, and it doesn't hurt to explore your options."
