Hailey studied abroad in Tokyo, Japan, during the Spring 2023 semester. She is a sociology major and history minor, and is very passionate about learning new cultures. She loves to experience things outside of her comfort zone, and having spent time in Europe in 2019, she felt that Temple's Japan program was a once in a lifetime experience that she had to take! Taking history classes in Japan with classmates from all over the world gave her a classroom experience unlike anything she had ever had before. Hearing new perspectives and experiencing different cultural nuances enriched her entire worldview, making her a better sociologist and historian! Her time abroad helped her grow as a student and as a person. She hopes to inspire others to spend time abroad, as she believes that it is an important and essential life experience.
