What’s up! I’m Giovanny Zapata! I was a Health Professions major and Public Health and Biology double minor with a Genome Medicine Certificate (yes, it’s a mouthful to say). At Temple, being an Owl Team Leader for 2 years showed me how inspiration is a powerful, vital tool that I hope to reciprocate as a storyteller. As a first generation, Latinx college student and a son of two immigrants, I thought studying abroad was never a possibility for me. Furthermore, as a pre-med student, I was advised that a full semester study abroad experience was never feasible. Yet, here I am! By studying abroad, I am not only building the foundation for my future, but for generations of family members before me. With that, l can’t wait to share my experience from Copenhagen and show that you CAN study abroad, no matter the circumstance!
