Eugenia is a senior film and media arts major with a minor in art. She grew up in Athens, Greece, and frequently traveled between there and the United States. Her frequent travels fostered her passion for travel, and she broadened her horizons by studying abroad in Tokyo, Japan, in order to fully experience a completely different culture and immerse herself in it. Studying abroad in Japan not only gave her insight on daily life abroad, but it also helped expand her knowledge on deeper parts of Japanese culture including pop culture, psychology, and early Japanese film. Throughout the summer, she traveled across the country and experienced the unique spirit and culture each different city had to provide. Eugenia's time abroad helped her step out of her comfort zone, and showed her how travel and education can beautifully intersect to foster personal growth and cultural appreciation, and she hopes to encourage others do the same!
