Ester Kim, an early childhood education major at Temple, worked as an education intern at Gymboree during her experience living in Rome, where she assisted with the School Skills program. As an intern, Ester helped to prepare young children for school and taught music and art classes to expose her students to different forms of expression. Working with Italian-speaking toddlers presented an additional challenge for Ester, whose limited Italian vocabulary did not stop her from excelling. Through her internship, Ester realized that the warm, fun, and safe environment of Gymboree was the perfect model for the classroom that she hopes to create eventually.
