Chason Rice is one of the music world's best-kept secrets. With an associate's degree in music, Chason has developed a repertoire of infectious arrangements and production from pop to a sultry neo-soul beat. The vocalist, producer, and instrumentalist have built an impressive array of work for himself and other up-and-coming artists.
The multifaceted musician composed music for Lebron James' sports media company, UNINTERRUPTED, performed alongside Honey LaRochelle at Electric Forest and served as the music director for Shuba’s Taste of Chicago performance and Bernie Levv's Silver Room Block Party performance. In addition, he also served as Executive Producer on Bernie Levv's 2019 EP, Culver City. He released his self-produced project, I Hate It Here, at the start of the pandemic. Inspired by sultry funk to 90’s R&B, the project is one of many collaborations Chason has released while working in Chicago.
Chason is currently studying in Tokyo at Temple University while earning a BA in Music Business with minors in Finance and Business Analytics. Be sure to keep your eyes and ears peeled for the industry's next A&R. Chason hopes to explore Tokyo and learn more about Japan’s music industry. Soon everyone will recognize the varied work of Chason.
I hope you can join me on this journey as I share the highs and lows of studying abroad as a music business student in Japan.
