Hi, my name's Anna and I went to Rome to study abroad in the fall! I am joined Temple for my semester abroad but I'm actually a student at Colorado College (I'm completing a double major in Psychology and Art Studio). I was so excited to take several studio art classes in Rome! While I love to paint and sculpt, I also love anything outdoors and anything to do with food. Another reason I was so excited to go to Rome for a semester was to experience Judaism in the city. The history, the traditions, the synagogues and the songs. As a foreigner in a new city, I hoped to find a welcoming community in local synagogues, regardless of language barriers and cultural differences.

I hope to find myself in local community, spirituality, and new friendships while in a new city: Rome. Hopefully, my blog will provide a look into the Jewish community in Rome and how religion (culturally or spiritually) may act to connect/support non-native language speakers to a local synagogue.
