      • Intern

Alex Voisine double-majored in Global Studies and Spanish at Temple University, and worked as an intern at SQ Law, a multinational, interdisciplinary firm with base offices in Rome and Brussels. As an intern, Alex reviewed cases involving companies and clients from the United States, Italy, Switzerland, and Japan. He also attended both civil and criminal court sessions, communicated with English-speaking clients, and gained extraordinary insight into the intricacies of the Italian legal system and the governance of the European Union.

The internship was a tremendously rewarding experience for Alex because he not only learned about the legal system and government of Italy, but he was also immersed in the culture and language of Italy. “From the internship, I learned about myself and my interests in the legal field, I learned about the beautifully rich Italian culture, and I learned how to function in an international, professional environment. For that reason, the experience was enriching in many ways, and most definitely worthwhile.”

After his semester in Rome, Alex studied abroad again in Oviedo, Spain. Upon returning to the U.S. for his junior year, he wanted to find a way to continue thinking globally while studying at Main Campus. In addition to continuing to study Italian and Spanish, Alex joined Freely Magazine, Temple's only student publication that deals exclusively with all things international, offering a platform for both international and domestic students to think and write globally. As the current Editor-in-Chief of Freely, Alex manages a team of 50+ editors and writers, writes a weekly international news column, and has helped make Freely a social space where domestic and international students can interact and learn more about each others' cultures. If you're interested in writing for Freely Magazine or learning more about the work that Freely does, feel free to email Alex: alex.voisine@temple.edu

Alex studied abroad a fourth time in Ecuador in Spring 2018 through the Latin American Studies Semester, and he is more than willing to share his experiences with prospective study abroad students!

"I came into SQ Law not really knowing much about law or the Italian culture. I left SQ Law with a passion for international law and an even stronger passion for the Italian culture."
