The Spanish character as revealed in its language, literature, architecture, history, art, music, and ethnic traditions. Geography and sociology of Spain. Lectures, readings, and discussions. NOTE: Prior to summer 2015, the course title was "Spanish Culture and Civilization."

Taught in Spanish. In the spring, this course is available to students on both the intermediate and advanced tracks.
- Pre-requisites:
Minimum grade of C- in SPAN 2096 or SPAN 2098. In fall and spring, students who have not completed 2096 may take 3221 in Spain if they enroll in 2096 concurrently.
