Engineering Statics

  • Course Number: 2331
  • Subject: Engineering
  • Semester(s) Offered: Summer
  • Credit Hours: 3
  • Description:

You will learn fundamental concepts that are used in every engineering discipline: vector mechanics of concentrated and distributed forces, moments, Free Body Diagrams, static analyses of trusses, frames and machines, internal forces and moments, frictional systems, centroids, and moments of inertia.

  • Temple in Spain Course Section: Dive into the essential principles of physics and mechanics that underpin the design of modern engineering structures. You?ll build a strong foundation in applied mechanics while exploring key concepts used across all engineering disciplines?from forces and vectors to trusses, friction, and moments of inertia. Bring these concepts to life in Oviedo. Surrounded by remarkable classical structures, you will connect theory to practice by examining how real-world landmarks were designed and constructed. You?ll also gain insight into how culture and history influence engineering design, deepening your technical understanding and broadening your global perspective.
